Contractors, is a Home Inspector really your Enemy or can they be your Biggest Fan?

I know it isn’t easy for you guys but as JFK said “Do not pray for an easy life, Pray to be a Stronger Person!”

Here’s a typical scenario I hear:

A. Home Owner/Buyer/Landlord/Investor “knows” they can only have two of these three from a Contractor:

1. Lower Price, 2. Exceptionally Good Workmanship, 3. Speedier Completion.

However they usually want ALL THREE!

B. On the other end, a Home Inspector may be Implying that Everything is: Below Quality, Shortcuts were taken and It’s Still not Complete!

You’ve seen the Inspection Report and it seems to be One and a Half pages of nebulous facts (e.g. There may be evidence of Powder Post Beetles) supported by Ten pages of Disclaimers (i.e. “The inspector is not responsible for missed or excluded items”, “May require further investigation by a licensed professional”, “Any action taken must be resolved in the State where the Inspector maintains a Business office in Mumbai”, “Recommend qualified Contractor to inspect or repair as needed”, etc).
